Stadtwerke Gießen and Tour der Hoffnung presented prizes

There were beaming faces at Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) on Monday. The reason for this was the 30,000 kilowatt hours of natural gas that were up for grabs in the SWG additional prize draw for the Tour of Hope raffle.

Ina Weller, Head of Marketing and Sales at SWG, and Gerhard Becker, Head of Organisation of the Tour of Hope, congratulated the three winners and, together with Volker Klein, the Tour's sporting director, symbolically presented vouchers for the quantities of natural gas won.

Main prize stays in Giessen

The main prize, 15,000 kWh of natural gas, was won by Michael Müller from Giessen. Karlheinz Arnold from Buseck won 10,000 kWh of natural gas and thus the second prize. Brigitte Meyer from Staufenberg was delighted to receive 5,000 kWh of natural gas.

The winners took part in the Tour of Hope prize draw. The Tour of Hope supports children suffering from cancer and leukaemia with all proceeds from the sale of raffle tickets. Last year alone, the Tour of Hope raised a sensational 1,038,000 euros in donations. Anyone who, like the three winners, bought their ticket at the infoCentre of Stadtwerke Gießen or at SWG events also took part in the additional prize draw. Once again this year, committed cyclists from the worlds of sport, business, show business and politics will be pedalling hard and raising money for a good cause.

Anniversary year

This year's cycle tour is being organised under a special star: the Tour of Hope is celebrating its 25th anniversary. There will be a few surprises and events to mark the occasion this year.

On 8 March, the Tour of Hope will be celebrated with a big charity gala in the Fernwaldhalle in Steinbach. Visitors can expect a great entertainment programme - including the singer Mary Ross.
