The traditional RMV timetable change is due on 15 December 2019. Stadtwerke Gießen is using this opportunity to better adapt its bus services to demand.

As every year in December, the companies that are part of RMV are optimising their timetables in 2019. This also applies to Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG). This winter, there will therefore be changes to eight city bus routes:

On line 1 (Lützellinden-Rödgen), the departure times will be shifted from Monday to Friday between 18:30 and 22:00 and on Saturdays between 17:30 and 20:00.
departure times. The same applies to some school journeys - although these are only minute differences. On Saturday mornings, two short journeys between the "Sophie-Scholl-Schule" and "Waldweide" stops will be cancelled. Instead, SWG will offer five additional short journeys on Saturday afternoons.
The situation is very similar on Line 2 (Bahnhof-Eichendorffring). Here, too, SWG has minimally adjusted some departure times between 18:30 and 20:00 on Mondays to Fridays.
On Saturday mornings between 05:30 and 08:00, some journeys will be cancelled. The SWG local transport experts have also slightly adjusted some early departure times. The most important change is that

Line 2 also has additional buses on Saturday afternoons between 14:00 and 18:30.
For line 3 (Schlangenzahl-Friedhof), the departure times for some school journeys will change by a few minutes. On Sunday mornings, scheduled taxis will run instead of the usual buses at the usual times on the usual route until around 09:30. These smaller vehicles will run according to the timetable without advance booking by telephone. There will be no surcharges.

On line 5 (Bahnhof-Wieseck-Greizer Straße), some journeys will be cancelled on Saturday mornings between 05:00 and 08:00.

For line 15 (Bahnhof-Wieseck-Burgenring), the SWG timetable managers have slightly shifted the departure times on Saturday mornings between 05:30 and 08:00.

As with route 3 , SWG is also dispensing with conventional buses on route 7 (Philosophenwald-Ev. Krankenhaus) on Sunday mornings until around 09:30 and running scheduled taxis instead. And here, too, the following applies: the scheduled taxi runs without a call and without surcharges according to the familiar timetable.

On route 12 (Gewerbegebiet West-Sandfeldschule), the "Hedwig-Burgheim-Ring" stop will no longer be available.

Line 17 (Bahnhof-Am Alten Flughafen) will be extended by two stops from 15 December. With the new stops "Stolzenmorgen" and "Lufthansastraße", SWG is opening up the Am Alten Flughafen area (former US depot). The first journey from the "Bahnhof" stop now starts at 06:50 - 5 minutes earlier than usual. New departure times apply from 19:00.

New names for stops
In addition to the changes to the actual timetable, SWG is using the change to rename five stops:
Aulweg/Wartweg > Arndtstraße Aulweg > Sternmark
Car park at the station > Lahnstraße car park
Schiffenberger Weg > Ulner Dreieck
Wiesecker Weg > Theodor-Litt-School

Construction site Neustädter Tor
From 15 December, lines 2, 3, 7, 12, 13, 24, 800, 801, 802 and the VENUS night bus will resume regular service in both directions via the Marktplatz and Oswaldsgarten stops once the construction work has been completed.

The current timetables can be found on the website www.swg-verkehr.de.
If you have any questions, the staff at the mobility centre in the SWG customer centre on Marktplatz will of course also be happy to help - in person or by telephone on 0641 708-1400. Opening hours: Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 18:00 and Saturdays from 10:00 to 14:00
