Lollar-Lumdatal building co-operative relies on energy services from SWG

Heating costs are becoming an ever-increasing cost factor - but if you take a closer look, this is also where the greatest savings potential can be realised. For this reason, heating costs have been under scrutiny at the Lollar-Lumdatal building co-operative for some time. In order to achieve savings in the area of energy supply, the managing director of the building co-operative, Axel Löwenstein, relied on the energy management of Stadtwerke Gießen AG (SWG).

The building cooperative relied on the expertise of Stadtwerke Giessen for the energy-saving course for four blocks of flats in Friedrich-Ebert-Straße in Lollar.

With today's signing of the contract, the building co-operative and SWG have sealed the future heat supply for the residential units concerned. The contract was signed by Axel Löwenstein (Managing Director BG Lollar-Lumdatal), Thomas Wagner (Sales Manager Industrial and Business Customers SWG) and Oliver Kisignacz (Sales Energy Services), thus laying the foundations for a 10-year collaboration. At the signing of the contract, Mayor Dr Bernd Wieczorek also expressed his belief that this project is fit for the future.

Willi Schwarz (employee and project manager of SWG Wärmeversorgung) was responsible for the modernisation of the existing heating system. In future, the four apartment blocks in Friedrich-Ebert-Straße will be heated by a central gas condensing boiler system with an output of 185 kilowatts and four additional heat transfer stations. SWG anticipates an annual heat requirement of 250 thousand kilowatt hours - before the system was optimised, the heat requirement was 360 thousand kilowatt hours per year.

For companies and firms, as well as towns and municipalities, the following applies: anyone wishing to optimise their heating system should contact the experts at Stadtwerke Gießen AG. They will take a close look at all components of the existing heating technology and can quickly tell you which technical and economic options are available for optimising the system. The service hotline is available Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. - 0180 22 11 100.
