High energy consumption always has several causes. In order to get to the bottom of these causes, Stadtwerke Gießen AG (SWG) is now offering its customers a new service package, enerGIeßen, which provides all the information they need about saving energy from a single source.
"Good advice doesn't always have to be expensive," says Michael Rösner, Head of Private Customer Sales at SWG. "True to this guiding principle, we want to advise our customers on all topics relating to energy applications and show them individual ways to save energy," says Rösner. Together with his team of six energy consultants, Michael Rösner has combined existing SWG services with new energy services to create the enerGIeßen service package.
The new energy service
enerGIeßen includes various services for energy saving, active environmental protection and expert advice. SWG's energy consultants show individual ways to save energy. With the modules of the SWG offer, the experts uncover weak points, reduce energy costs and thus ensure a clean environment. Expertise is required when it comes to energy-saving. In addition to comprehensive energy advice, SWG offers the right services to go with it.
What does enerGIeßen offer in detail? The municipal utilities have summarised the many advantages at a glance:
The energy certificate
The energy certificate shows the energy demand or consumption of a building in comparison to other buildings. It provides information about energy losses. It also provides modernisation tips and potential savings. Anyone interested in the energy certificate can obtain advice from the energy experts at SWG. The energy certificate is only available from SWG once the legal requirements for such a certificate have been established.
Thermography
The municipal utilities use thermography to track down heat losses. By taking thermographic images, different surface temperatures become visible and so-called thermal bridges in the building come to light. This pictorial representation can reveal construction defects or localise leaks in pipes. Improperly installed insulation or water damage can be visualised.
Blower door test
Customers who have a blower door test carried out receive information about the air permeability of their building. A very air-permeable building has a high ventilation heat loss, which leads to high heating energy consumption. In order to reduce heat loss, it is necessary to find out where there are unwanted leaks in the building envelope.
Planning, building and optimising the heating system
When renewing a heating system, there are many things to consider, and energy consultants are well aware of this. After all, the quality of the heating system installed is reflected in the energy consumption. The interrelationships between user habits, existing installation and subsequent planning are important. In cooperation with local tradesmen, the municipal utilities plan, build and optimise heating systems according to customer requirements.
E-check
Electricity and safety are everyone's business. Life without electricity is almost unimaginable these days. More and more electrical appliances are taking their place in our everyday lives and making our lives more pleasant and convenient. Only very few people ask themselves whether their existing electrical installation can cope with this additional load without becoming a safety risk. With the E-Check, SWG, in co-operation with local tradespeople, offers its customers the opportunity to find out whether their electrical installation is safe.
