Öko Therm district heating supply contract from 01.04.2025

The prices for the supply of district heating from the Stadtwerke Gießen AG pipeline network (Öko Therm district heating supply contract) are listed below:

Öko Therm price components and price adjustment clauses

The heat price for the quantities purchased under the contract is made up of an annual performance price, a labour price and a transfer price.

a) The annual output price for the heat requirement in the delivery year is as shown in the above formula

b) In the above price formula means:

I1 = arithmetic mean of the capital goods indices of the last 6 months with a 2-month time lag. Federal Statistical Office: Long series of indices of producer prices of industrial products, No. 3.

I0 = Basis capital goods index = 97.2 (July 2019, basis 2021 = 100). Federal Statistical Office: Long series of indices of producer prices of industrial products, No. 3.

L1 = Arithmetic mean of the last 6 monthly wages of an employee in pay group 7 level 5 of the collective agreement for utility companies (TV-V) of 5 October 2000 in the version of the respective valid amended collective agreement with a 2-month time lag.

L0 = basic monthly wage of an employee in pay group 7 level 5 of the collective agreement for utility companies (TV-V) dated 5 October 2000 as amended by the 13th amendment to the collective agreement dated 18 April 2018 = EUR 3,727.25 (gross wage as at 01.07.2019).

c) The heat requirement in kW for the calculation of the annual service price in accordance with a) above is the heat output determined by SWG that is to be provided for the customer property at the transfer point on the basis of the relevant DIN EN 12831.

d) The annual performance price changes on 1 April and 1 October of each year. With effect from 1 April and 1 October of each year, the arithmetic mean of the capital goods indices and the monthly wages of the following months shall be used as the basis for the change in the annual service price:

  • for the formation of the annual performance price on 1 April: August to December of the previous calendar year and January of the current calendar year,
  • for the formation of the annual output price on 1 October: February to July of the current calendar year.

G1 = arithmetic mean of the gas indices (natural gas, for supply to industry, annual supply 116,300 MWh/year, excluding CO2 levy) of the last 6 months with a 2-month time lag. Federal Statistical Office: Long series of indices of producer prices of industrial products, serial no. 652.

G0 = Base gas index (natural gas, for supply to industry, annual supply 116,300 MWh/year, without CO2 levy) = 82.0 (July 2019, base 2021 = 100). Federal Statistical Office: Long series of indices of producer prices of industrial products, serial no. 652.

WP1 = Arithmetic mean of the heat price indices of the last 6 months with a 2-month time lag. Federal Statistical Office, Genesis database, consumer price index for Germany, special items, code CC13-77 (heat price index (district heating, incl. operating costs)).

WP0 = Basis heat price index = 102.3 (July 2019, basis 2020 = 100). Federal Statistical Office, Genesis database, consumer price index for Germany, special items, code CC13-77 (heat price index (district heating, incl. operating costs)).

c) The energy price changes on 1 April and 1 October of each year. With effect from 1 April and 1 October of each year, the arithmetic mean of the gas indices (natural gas, for supply to industry, annual supply 116,300 MWh/year, excluding CO2 levy) and the heat price indices of the following months shall be used as the basis for the change in the energy price:

  • for the calculation of the energy price on 1 April: August to December of the previous calendar year and January of the current calendar year,
  • for the calculation of the energy price on 1 October: February to July of the current calendar year.

c) The heat requirement in kW for the calculation of the settlement price pursuant to a) above shall be the heat output determined by SWG to be provided for the customer property at the transfer point on the basis of the relevant DIN EN 12831 standard.

d) The settlement price shall change on 1 April and 1 October of each year. With effect from 1 April and 1 October of each year, the arithmetic mean of the capital goods indices and the monthly wages of the following months shall be used as the basis for the change in the transfer price:

  • for the formation of the transfer price on 1 April: August to December of the previous calendar year and January of the current calendar year,
  • for the formation of the transfer price as at 1 October: February to July of the current calendar year.
